Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates it. That provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email message as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers automatically receive basic technical facts about the visit:
- Page-view dates and times
- Device type and operating system
- IP address assigned to the device
- Referring website, when one is supplied
- Browser type and version
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved on a device. They and analytics services help combine traffic data, such as which pages draw visits and where sessions end. Browser settings can block cookies, although doing so may change how some functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search request to the selected partner
- Maintaining reliable and responsive pages
- Finding and resolving technical problems
- Measuring which content is useful or needs improvement
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The site identifies where Saline County records may be requested from the sheriff, the Circuit Court, the Missouri State Highway Patrol Central Repository, and the Missouri Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal profiles. Official criminal-history dissemination is governed separately by RSMo 43.506.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information entered there is governed by the selected partner's privacy policy, including its retention and sharing rules. We do not control those practices. Read the provider's policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links lead to the Saline County Sheriff, Missouri court portals, state agencies, legal-aid resources, and third-party search tools. The destination's privacy policy applies after leaving this site. Review it before disclosing personal details.
Some advertising providers may track activity across websites to select ads. That process occurs on their systems rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be received by:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Standard security measures are used to protect collected data. No internet system is completely secure, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor's data is identified, a deletion request may be made through the available contact channel.
Your Data Rights
Missouri law, including the Missouri Sunshine Law, Chapter 610, governs access to government records, while RSMo 43.506 controls specified repository dissemination. Those laws do not turn this private site into a government custodian. Depending on where you live, other privacy or consumer-protection law may also provide rights. At a minimum, you can:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
